America Family Law Center operates various programs that assist families, parents, and caregivers. These programs include Child Custody Legal Aid, Child Visitation Assistance, Children First Always, Fathers Rights Initiative, and Volunteer Attorneys. By supporting family structures, America Family Law Center strives to have a positive impact on children and help children have a safe and healthy environment to grow and thrive.
Some programs the organization once provided may have been discontinued, others may have not resumed all pre-COVID activities, while others are now an online information-only program.
The Child Custody Legal Aid program aims to help parents and caregivers with resources involving child custody.
The America Family Law Center, through its Child Custody Legal Aid program, attempts to provide parents and caregivers with resources to assist with child custody. The program connects parents and caregivers with resources such as Legal Aid, Free Legal Help, Family Houston, Texas Child Custody and Support information, and Legal Aid Resources.
The Child Visitation Assistance program desires to help parents who have been separated from a child stay connected and involved in their child’s life.
The America Family Law Center, through its Child Visitation Assistance program, attempts to provide parents and caregivers with resources to help them stay connected and involved with their children. The program connects parents and caregivers with resources such as the Office of Child Support Services, Child Custody and Visitation Information, and Texas Child Support’s Access and Visitation program.
The Children First Always program strives to provide families with education and educational resources related to parenting and healthy family dynamics.
The America Family Law Center, through the Children First Always program, intends to encourage parenting-focused programs in schools and communities, particularly in low-income or at-risk families. Examples include the Muffins for Moms and Donuts for Dads programs, provided by Dr. Tyrone Tanner, to the school parent population and focus on parenting school-age children.
The Fathers Rights Initiative is a national initiative that aims to promote fatherhood through engaged parenting and a positive parent-child relationship.
The America Family Law Center, through its Fathers Rights Initiative program, intends to assist fathers with issues involving children and parenting. The program expects to share common goals with the National Fatherhood Initiative and the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.
The Volunteer Attorneys program wants to encourage and facilitate attorneys to help their communities by volunteering their time and expertise.
The America Family Law Center, through its Volunteer Attorneys program, strives to help make legal resources more accessible to the public, particularly low-income and at-risk families. Attorneys can, through volunteerism, help provide greater access to legal resources and education related to the legal issues of low-income families. Attorneys may volunteer their time and expertise in public service to help their community and fulfill the expectations of the State Bar of Texas and other state bar associations across the United States.
